JDPC stands for Justice Development and Peace Commission. It is a community-based organization rooted in Catholic social teachings, focused on promoting justice, peace, and human dignity through practical interventions.

JDPC Maiduguri was founded in 1971 and has since provided over five decades of humanitarian and development service in Borno State and surrounding regions. It was formally incorporated in 2015 as the Justice Development and Peace Initiative.

JDPC Maiduguri focuses on WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution, Humanitarian Assistance, Livelihoods, and Governance & Advocacy.

The organization is governed by a Board of Trustees made up of five dedicated individuals who provide strategic direction and oversight, supported by a management team and community volunteers.
